The battery in Lisa's Intruder didn't survive the winter. When we pulled it, two cells were totally dried up, and the other four were averaging half full. So much for "dealer prep" on trade-ins/consignment bikes. I charged it for four days at 1/2 amp per hour, and it turned over the engine for about 2 minutes. Okay, time for a new battery, no big deal, right?
WRONG!!! Who but Suzuki would use a specialty, double side post battery. Walmart doesn't carry it. Autozone doesn't carry it. The local motorcycle/ATV aftermarket shop doesn't have it. Ah, but they can order it for her. For a measly $105.00US, plus shipping and handling. Uh-huh. Just who do they think they're kidding. Abattery for more than a decent rear tire costs.
Okay Intrudn, what's the secret here? Is she going to have to order it from JC Whitless?
I'm still trying to fathom this, and come to find out, it doesn't cross reference to any other battery. At least the Savage will accept a tiny Harley battery if the right one is unavailable.
Catch y'all tomorrow night, I'm going to bed.
